Bristol Metropolitan District is a Title 32 Special District that has been established for the purpose of financing and installing street, park and recreation, water, sanitation, transportation, mosquito control, and safety protection of the District; and all other improvements or services permitted by Article 1, Title 32, C.R.S. (collectively, the “Public Improvements and Services”), except as specifically limited by the Service Plan for the District approved by the City Council of the City of Aurora on July 25, 2016, as it may be amended from time to time (the “Service Plan”)

The Public Improvements and Services are for the use and benefit of the residents and taxpayers of the District. The District is located in the City of Aurora, Colorado. The District is a quasi-municipal political subdivision of the State of Colorado authorized to provide specialized services that the City of Aurora does not provide.

The District may incur a maximum debt of $11,000,000.00.  Ad valorem property taxes, specific ownership taxes, fees, and any other legally available moneys may be used to repay the debt.

The District may assess a maximum mill levy of fifty (50) mills, as adjusted for statutory or legislative changes occurring on or after January 1, 2004, to repay such debt.  Once imposed, the debt service mill levy may only be imposed for forty (40) years.

The District must file an Annual Report to the Manager of the Office of Development Assistance in the Aurora City Manager’s Office.

The District boundaries overlap with the boundaries of:  Aurora School District #28J, Arapahoe County, City of Aurora, Developmental Disability, Regional Transportation District (“RTD”), Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (South Platte), and West Arapahoe Conservation District
